I brought this for the fact I could install Kodi on it. It is very easy to install Kodi following YouTube tutorials and using the ES File Explorer.

Very good product.Especially strong with U.K centric apps.Easy sideloading,in fact it’s a doddle.Much like Roku this has been the box to hand for a lot of people.Although it’s 4k capable the coming replacement for this unit is most welcome. The new unit is touted as having hdr & 60fps support for 4k/uhd plus a full version 2 hdmi port unlike this version’s 1.4 hdmi port.I think the fact that in just over two years the price on this product has remained steady at around £79.99 tells you all you need to know.Still a very worthy contender for those that don’t have 4k/uhd hdr.For those that do have hdr support it’s worth waiting a little while for the new model to drop.

Excellent device

Following 2 defective items the present fire TV works well. I previously owned a fire TV and this iteration is noticeably quicker and the picture quality is stunning. I have used a number of programmes and apps all of them work very well indeed. Can I recommend this product? Definitely, it is easy to set up and operate, a real joy once the two previous versions were replaced.

Bought this for my dad as he wanted the one that you could connect an Ethernet cable to it, as the WiFi in his house is awful (BT Home hub). I gave my parents a quick demo, and left them to it. Easy to use for old (they are in their 60’s) and young people alike. Great product and has everything they need.

Brilliant versatility and content

Brilliant versatility for films, programmes, BBC, ALL 4, and other stations. Free prime films are great, as are the Amazon produced series.Amazon music excellent and easy access to Spotify. Prime photos really good giving access to albums via TV. The remote voice controlled search is brilliant. Why do I still subscribe to exorbitantly priced SKY???

After two broken fire sticks I finally took the plunge, no more constant buffering. No more false reports that my internet connection is slow when it isn’t, no more freezing after a few hours. No more fatal crashes. This, is excellent. I have used it constantly for a few months now without a single problem. I would recommend it above the firs stick everytime.

Works great. Having kodi available is perfect. Only bad point would be no optical output which is somewhat annoying but using a splitter which is working fine. I’m using an Ethernet cable so can’t comment on Wi-Fi. You will need a pretty good router to attempt this as your streaming 4k TV which is going to need more bandwidth. Anyone saying “My smart TV does it” your probably only streaming at 1080p and not 4k so can’t compare. There is a TV player for live free view box plus many catchup apps like iplayer etc. If you want sky tv and everything else then the answer is yes you can but will need to dig for that yourself.
