Brilliant

You won’t be able to put this down nor will you ever look at politics the same way again. A cumulative catalogue of apparently insignificant failures by Cameron combined with the Leave campaign’s sheer will to win made it happen. High drama.

A good read. Perhaps a little overhyped but interesting nonetheless.

Fascinating and Depressing

A both fascinating and depressing account of the EU referendum campaign and the fallout. Fascinating because it shines a light on who said or did what to bring about Brexit. Depressing because it shows how we the voter were manipulated by the campaigns playing on our fears and prejudice. However Reader remember much of the narrative relies on what politicians and their handlers recollect , so treat it with the proverbial ‘bag of salt’.

Well written fly on the wall account of the battle of egos

I bought this book to try and get a better understanding of the referendum on Brexit. I certainly got that. A fuller understanding of the outcome would require extended conversations with a representative sample of those who voted both Leave and Remain. In fairness to the book’s author, he did not set himself this goal in writing the book, and it is not the world he works in – but that does not take away from perhaps its most significant limitation. This is a tale of politics as defined in terms of the relationships between people – in many ways, no more and no less.
