Knowing where the notes are on the guitar fretboard is an essential skill that will improve your guitar playing radically.
You can play a chord shape or a scale without necessarily knowing what notes you are playing, so it is quite easy to neglect to learn it thoroughly, but doing so will be one of the best investments of your time

Great little book for new guitarists

 on 1 April 2017

As a guitarist of only six months, I have been trying the many web-based video tutors with varying degrees of success. I have yet to find a good explanation of the fretboard note layout in a most of these however. I may not have looked hard enough! This booklet on Kindle is a good synopsis of how the fretboard works; I gained a lot of knowledge after just an hour of reading. For a pound, it’s a bargain.

Very useful little book if you’re starting to learn guitar or if you’ve been playing for centuries but can’t name most of the notes on the fretboard (like many guitar players).

This book is quite simply a revelation. At last someone has explained the lay-out of the fretboard in a way that is easy to understand and enjoyable to put into practice. Armed with the information contained in this book, I feel confident that this time, after so many abortive attempts, that I’m finally going to get to grips with solving the mysteries of the guitar and start to really enjoy it. Thanks for a superb little book at a great price.
