Modern living has made health and fitness more important
than ever. Ironically, modern living that has
made popular fitness methods too complicated and
costly to be practical much less effective.

In Fitness Independence, Matt Schifferle shares what he
has learned about how to be as fit as possible, without
having to sacrifice your lifestyle to the gym or "eating right."

Through focusing on just 5 key principals, you'll learn how
to achieve better results from building muscle to shedding
fat. At the same time, you'll break free from the costly
fads and trends that shackle both your results and your
daily lifestyle.

This is not another book about how to burn fat or get six
pack abs. It's a new approach towards diet and exercise
while remaining free to be fit on your own terms.
It's a book about how to "be fit and live free."

Best fitness author around

Matt Schifferle is the best fitness expert around. He has a great website and posts on YouTube great video. But for the overall picture this book is where it is at. The great thing about Matt Schifferle and his teachings is realism and experience. Realism because he knows 99.9% of people have a life outside of fitness. It is a hobby even if it is an important one. And everything he preaches/teaches comes from his own experience.

A good read.

I originally came across Matt”s work though his YouTube videos, which are excellent. I had tried numerous routes to fitness over the years, but none of them stuck; big chain gyms(too much standing around waiting for equipment), serious weights gyms (too strict in terms of program and diet), circuit training/crossfit (too exhausting and too many injuries). I kept trying the latest fitness fad and giving up after a couple of months. From reading and watching Matt’s work, I’ve been in ‘reasonable’ shape for over a year now. Nothing spectacular, but I feel much happier with my fitness than I ever have done before.

Can not recommend this enough to anyone even remotely interested in health/fitness

Big fan of Matt’s Youtube channel, in this book he outlines his philosophies of health and fitness and I can honesty say it contains some of the most enlightening and thought provoking views on fitness that I have come across. Details the mindset required on ones fitness journey as well as getting to the irrefutable root causes of fitness goals thus clarifying the way to pursue goals with methods that suit the individual. Can not recommend this enough to anyone even remotely interested in health/fitness. Massive thumbs up.

Be Fit, Live Free

This is a FANTASTIC book that isn’t just about calisthenics. It’s about being fit and living free. Free from a constrictive diet, free from machines sold to you via infomercials, free from worrying about “which routine should I use, how many sets, what’s my rep range”, and all that guff, and so much more. Do what you need to get the muscle to fatigue, and the rest will come. There’s Convict Conditioning, the Kavadlo Brother’s books, and now this. Fantastic read
