DI Nikki Galena faces a personal challenge which will stretch her to the limit. She must fulfil her father’s dying wish and discover who the mysterious Eve is. Meanwhile a dead drug dealer is found on an abandoned airfield that the locals say is haunted. The trail of both mysteries will lead to the most shocking discovery of Nikki’s career and put her whole team in mortal danger.

Full of twists and turns, this is a crime thriller that will keep you turning the pages until the shocking ending.

THE DETECTIVE DI Nikki Galena: A police detective with nothing left to lose, she’s seen a girl die in her arms and her own family destroyed. She’s tough on the criminals who she thinks did this to her.

HER PARTNER DS Joseph Easter is the squeaky-clean new member of the team. But his nickname “Holy Joe” belies his former life as a soldier. He has an estranged daughter who blames him for everything that went wrong with their family.

THE SETTING The Lincolnshire Fens: great open skies brood over marshes, farmland, and nature reserves. It is not easy terrain for the Fenland Constabulary to police, due to the distances between some of the remote Fen villages, the dangerous and often misty lanes, and the poor telephone coverage. There are still villages where the oldest residents have never set foot outside their own farmland and a visit to the nearest town is a major event. But it has a strange airy beauty to it, and above it all are the biggest skies you’ve ever seen.

Perfect for fans of Rachel Abbott, Robert Bryndza, Mel Sherratt, Angela Marsons, Colin Dexter, or Ruth Rendell.

KILLER ON THE FENS is the fourth novel in a gripping new crime fiction series.

“Joy Ellis’s future books will be something to look forward to.”

I do like this author, brings a different read to the table for those who like thrillers/crime books, The setting is interesting and different to be based in the Fens, not the first book I’ve read from Joy and won’t be the last!

Exciting, thrilling whodunnit. Another triumph by Joy Ellis. It’s 4am – I couldn’t stop until I knew who, and why. You should definitely buy this book, and all the other ‘Fens’ books.

A very exciting book. Well written couldn’t put it down. Could imagine myself out on the fens with the mists coming in. Not going to spoil it for you but everything could really happen.

Absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t put it down. Would like to know what happened to RAF Flaxton Mere though. Was it left to get flooded out, or what? The possibilities are endless.

This book was one of the rare stories that you really don’t want to put down. The plot was quite unusual and kept the reader guessing until the very end. The descriptions of the location were so vivid that you could envisage them in the mind’s eye.

Crime, shadow, hunted killer and stalker on the fens.

As with all Joy Ellis crime on the fens books when you start to read them it is very difficult to put down until the end. They keep you guessing. Looking forward to books 6 & 7.

Yet another brilliant Fens thriller by Joy Ellis. The story flows throughout and the characters all very plausible. The storyline is somewhat unusual but works very well.

A truly first rate murder mystery which grips the reader from start to finish. DI Nikki Galena and DS Joseph Easter are both in top form, with the respect of their loyal team giving them all the backup they need. A fantastic read.
