After suffering from depression for 18 months or so, I can honestly say that Joe and Golf has helped me get out the other side. It will boost your self esteem and open the floodgates of opportunity in your perspective. I now know I’m helping myself to be healthier and feel proud of my achievement. The world is truly my oyster. Weight loss is secondary. Joe doesn’t mention calories at all. It’s all about building lean muscle, recognising what’s good for you and doing it. The course takes some prep in getting a list together of items to shop for, picking recipes you like( there’s loads of lovely ones!), and making a weekly to stick up in your kitchen. The work out video is great too as he does it with you in real time. I can’t speak too highly of it. I’m no chef but his chicken korma and the steak and jalopeno peppers turned out lovely(actually in 2nd book sorry). I’ve bought all 3 books plus the video and I’d like to say I’m hooked. I’m no gym junkie either… just an average retired 59 year old who wants a healthier lifestyle so life is more enjoyable. Next year I’m plannig a 3 week trip in USA from coast to coast spending time in a small group tour going to national parks and the Grand Canyon walking and camping mostly….and I’m no camper, believe me! I feel like a new man. Go on have a go as you deserve to give yourself the chance to make a benefial change to your life. Then add on here or wherever how you got on. I’d love to hear how you do as I know it will make a difference to the way you approach life. Good luck all.

I went from being the chubby funster of the group to actuallu helping out my friend who is a semi-professional rower with his meal plans… I don’t know how to recommend this book any more highly.

Really recommend for simple, quick and healthy meals!

I bought this recipe book as a recommendation from a friend for simple but tasty recipes that don’t take hours to prepare. Recipes are really healthy and do leave you full and not wanting to reach for the biscuits at 8pm. My favourite recipes from this book are the steak and spinach, Thai beef stir fry and the sausage gnocchi . I made the chicken pie when my parents and Grandad came to visit and it served 5 of us with roasties and went down really well! At the beginning of the book it has a getting started section which tells you what utensils and spices etc you will need. If you don’t usually do a lot of cooking there will be a lot to buy initially but it is worth it and it is all stuff you will use long term

Joe makes healthy eating and exercise seem easy. The examples of people who have had incredible body transformations are inspirational. The meals seem straightforward and easy to cook, especially if they are prepped ahead, but I’d have liked more family friendly and meat free options. I want to give the sugar free treats a try. The exercises seem doable and I love the timetable and food plan.

Bought this book for my parents after having been given it myself as a present. Some really nicely varied and easy to make recipes inside, I’ve found I’m cooking a lot more after work and my diets become a lot healthier since purchasing the book.
