Bought as a birthday present and the recipient was delighted with it as a useful Holiday guide.

This 536-page book – the 9th (print) edition of March 2014 – is an interesting and readable guide (but see the postscript below) to the Iberian country of Portugal. This is a well-designed and presented guide, with useful maps. This is not a glossy guide with lots of colour pictures, but it is a well-designed and laid out guide, with colour used only sparingly. It is intended to be a helpful guide to things to see and do, and not just a list of things to see and do.

I used the book for ,in the main, the Algarve. It had all of the information which I needed and prices and other details such as opening times for attractions were all spot on.I had expected this in a new edition and was not disappointed.Would recommend.

Useful, informative

Useful, informative, but lacked depth. Then again, more depth would only add to the weight. Worked well as a supplement to other publications. The local tourist offices are excellent.

Good details also off the beaten track

A very good guide with details on areas outside the main tourist areas. We used it primarily for Minho, and the information was accurate and informative. Hifghly recommended.
