Excellent read – short stories of Rugby through the ages

An entertaining book of funny short stories. The type of book that you can ‘dip’ into night after night.

Interesting history, but slight dull anacdotes

I enjoyed this book. A number of the stories are interesting from a historical perspective. However it is a far from a complete history (it does not set out to be) and the stories themselves are often rather dull. The stories build up, and then you realise they go no further.

okay read

Yes it is good but it is just that you can’t read it in one go; but great to come back to from time to time. It makes you smile. Relaxing, entertaining and instructing too!

Was full of fun, interesting anecdotes about the game. Especially enjoyed the Welsh rugby tales.

Decent Book for a Decent Price

By Mr. S. Harding
I bought this book for a relative who is a big rugby fan, I read the reviews and decided that this was a suitable gift to buy. The book arrived quickly thanks to the excellent courier service provided. The book is quite long and each story lasts for 1 to 2 pages long. There are plenty of them, so that does not disappoint! The only issue I found with this is that some of the stories weren’t that strange at all, perhaps just filling in space in the book, so unless the person you intend to have this book is a big rugby fan I wouldn’t recommend this as a gift. As mine turned out, he loved the book and enjoyed reading some of the fascinating stories back to me!

Good present

A nice little present for someone who enjoys Rugby. Small stories about 3 pages each so a book that can be picked up for small amounts of time.

I originally bought this for a friend, but not before taking just a little peek at it myself!

Good present for brother-in-law

By Patricia
I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother-in-law, who is an ex-rugby player/fanatic. He enjoyed it as he could read it on and off without having to remember from chapter to chapter who the characters are (he is a volunteer health driver and often has long waits for patients having treatments).
