Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award – Best Historical Time Travel

Crosse Harbor Time Travel Trilogy – Book 1

Historian Emilie Crosse dreamed of a love that would last forever

Who knew she'd have to sail across two centuries to find it?

When her ex-husband Zane Grey Rutledge showed up at her door with a Revolutionary War uniform that was part of his grandmother's estate, neither one suspected that their lives were about to change in ways they couldn't possibly imagine.

Swept back in time to 1776 where a nation is struggling to be born, Emilie finds herself torn between two men: Zane, her ex who still holds the key to her heart, and Andrew McVie, the Patriot hero of her long-ago dreams . . . .

While reading this the first in the ‘Crosse Harbor Trilogy’ i was reminded of the older Mills and Boon books i used to read many years ago.The format of a married couple or lovers who had split up for one reason or other but still madly in love was here but Zane and Emmilie our couple find themselves 200 years in the past so have the added aspect of learning to live without all the ‘mod cons’ that we find a neccessity these days.

Time travel and romance, witty, funny and touching – the best combination for any afternoon. And it has a sequel!

An Enchanting Tale

I must confess that I put Zane down as an out and out arrogant M C P, who seemed to think that whatever he wanted and whatever he thought he should have were the only correct options, and I SO wanted to slap him!! However, the tale wends its’ way through believable paths, and it is obvious that Emilie belongs in the past and is both excited and comfortable with where and when she finds herself. The ending had my heart in my mouth, thinking that Zane would force her into what he wanted, but what actually happened was a surprise. I really enjoyed reading this, and have already bought the other two and will start the first of them as soon as I have finished this!

Fun and thought provoking

I enjoyed this story and the concept of travelling through time. The characters were well drawn and likeable and they showed how difficult it would be to adapt to another time. It was interesting to show how 20th century inventions were slowly mentioned or avoided so that the couple were not considered completely crazy. The romantic aspect was well written.

Feeling very down because I have M.E. but Barbara transported me to another world for a week. I thoroughly enjoyed her story telling ability. I can’t wait to find her next book in the trilogy or anything else she has written.
