This was my first audiobook for 2017 and I just didn’t want to switch it off. A superbly crafted story complemented so well by Laura Kirman’s use of different ‘voices’ for the characters and her expressive reading of the story bring it to life, make a fantastic listen.

I love hats, romance, underdogs, friends spending time together. A very well written book which had me engrossed from the first page. I would love a friend like Ava and she could also bring Sam. The author has done her research so well. This book is full of surprises and I dare anyone not to shed a tear or two. Well done Sue I love your book.

You can’t help but get caught up in this page-turner!

Beautifully portrayed characters along with a big dose of realism. A story that will surprise you and have your emotions diving and soaring as you get caught up in the characters’ lives. And did I mention hats? I’m off to buy one now …

Slow simmering start!

I read a review saying “can’t put book down” , I found it hard to get into story. After a few chapters the story telling took off and I really enjoyed it. Will look out for this author again.

A really interesting and unusual central character, with a fascinating job! Effortlessly drawn into Sue’s world, festive and I was actually reading this on Christmas day when I should probably have been doing something else …
