I got this book for my husband who is a real cricket nut! He absolutely loved it and was often laughing out loud as he read it. He has said that it is a must read for all cricket fans and has lent the book out to several friends who have also raved about it. Well worth the £7.99 I paid for it!

A must read

For any good, bad or average club cricketer, this is a must read. I played 2nd/3rd team cricket for over 25 years and the book could easily have been written about about my one club. Brilliant and highly recommended!

In my opinion Dan Whitings best book to date. Dan is part of the satirically witty Middle Stump crew who I follow on social media and brighten my day

A must-have for all club cricketers.

If you’re a fan of the excellent cricket blog The Middle Stump, you will love this offering from its creator Dan Whiting. Club cricketers across the country will identify with the amusing observations he makes about bent umpires, weak orange squash at drinks breaks, going on tour and the excruciating and never-ending ordeal of being a club skipper. Highly recommended!

Brilliantly written, this book guides you through the characters to be found within club cricket, and their foibles, faults and the funny side to cricket. A definite choice as stocking stuffer for any cricket afficionado!

Was in fits of giggles throughout, with laugh out loud moments thrown in for good measure. The 2nd book I’ve had the pleasure in reading by Dan and can’t wait for the next one!

Loved this book! My early life down to a tee! Totally sums up league cricket from humour to the competitiveness of the game and all the idiosyncrasies that go with it.
