Simply brilliant. Dan doesn’t write a bad book, but this one has made me pick up a bat again and remember what fun club cricket was!! a MUST read for anyone who loves cricket and has played club cricket. Or for anyone who is thinking about playing. It perfectly describes the charm that club cricket has!! thanks Dan, for bringing me back to the game!

I got this book for my husband who is a real cricket nut! He absolutely loved it and was often laughing out loud as he read it. He has said that it is a must read for all cricket fans and has lent the book out to several friends who have also raved about it. Well worth the £7.99 I paid for it!

If you have played club cricket at any level, or been involved in it, there’s so much to this book that you will relate to and enjoy.

For any good, bad or average club cricketer, this is a must read. I played 2nd/3rd team cricket for over 25 years and the book could easily have been written about about my one club. Brilliant and highly recommended!

In my opinion Dan Whitings best book to date. Dan is part of the satirically witty Middle Stump crew who I follow on social media and brighten my day

A must-have for all club cricketers.

If you’re a fan of the excellent cricket blog The Middle Stump, you will love this offering from its creator Dan Whiting. Club cricketers across the country will identify with the amusing observations he makes about bent umpires, weak orange squash at drinks breaks, going on tour and the excruciating and never-ending ordeal of being a club skipper. Highly recommended!

Was in fits of giggles throughout, with laugh out loud moments thrown in for good measure. The 2nd book I’ve had the pleasure in reading by Dan and can’t wait for the next one!
