She is the girl with the dragon tattoo. Lisbeth Salander. An uncompromising misfit whose burning sense of injustice and talent for investigation will never respect boundaries of state or status.

He is a campaigning journalist. Mikael Blomkvist. A lone wolf whose integrity and championing of the truth bring him time and again to the brink of unemployment – and prosecution.

The call comes in late at night: a superhacker has gained access to critical, top secret U.S. intelligence.

Blomkvist knows only one person who could crack the best security systems in the world. This case has all the hallmarks of Salander. She is accused of acting without reason, taking risks just because she can, but though they have lost touch, Blomkvist knows Lisbeth better than that.

There must be something deeper at the heart of this – maybe even the scoop that Millennium magazine so desperately needs for its survival.

A tangled web of truth that someone is prepared to kill to protect…

Slightly disappointing.

Not a bad read, but not quite up to the standard of the original trilogy. If you read Terry Pratchett then you may have noticed that his style began to fade in the last few books he wrote as illness overtook him. There was not quite the same deft touch, the same wit, the same sparkle in the dialogue. This book gives a similar impression of having fallen off from peak performance which is sad.

Not yet to Stieg Larsson’s standard.

Didn’t quite have the flow or intensity of the original books but certainly shows promise. A bit too much time taken in explaining things we have already read in previous books. Will read the other novels though hopefully will improve as time goes on.

Fabulous

I loved this book, the transition between authours is so smooth it’s not even noticeable. The story is just as gripping at the first 3 books. I loved it

Great book once it got going, best read when you haven’t got to sleep and go to work the next day!

I was amazed at how well this fitted into the series

I was amazed at how well this fitted into the series, and that the high quality of writing enabled it to stand almost seamlessly alongside the publicly acclaimed work of the original author of the Millennium series.

Great follow up to the original books

Great read, does justice to the original books

Really good read with technical aspects understandable even to a relative technophobe. Couldn’t put down, always the sign of a good book, look forward to reading the next one. Lagercrantz has continued the good work with the character

A good follow up to the original trilogy

The characters are the same but feel slightly different, not so much to ruin the feel. Enjoyed it a lot although it seemed to build to a rather quick finish, certainly feel there’s more to come from this Lisbeth and Mikael!

The entwined lives evolve even more
