She is the girl with the dragon tattoo. Lisbeth Salander. An uncompromising misfit whose burning sense of injustice and talent for investigation will never respect boundaries of state or status.

He is a campaigning journalist. Mikael Blomkvist. A lone wolf whose integrity and championing of the truth bring him time and again to the brink of unemployment – and prosecution.

The call comes in late at night: a superhacker has gained access to critical, top secret U.S. intelligence.

Blomkvist knows only one person who could crack the best security systems in the world. This case has all the hallmarks of Salander. She is accused of acting without reason, taking risks just because she can, but though they have lost touch, Blomkvist knows Lisbeth better than that.

There must be something deeper at the heart of this – maybe even the scoop that Millennium magazine so desperately needs for its survival.

A tangled web of truth that someone is prepared to kill to protect…

It took me a while to get round to buying this book. everyone said it wasn’t a patch on the original books. But how the hell do you jump into a dead mans shoes. WELL. You don’t, but you had a bloody good try. Well done and thanks Sonia Carrington May 2017

An excellent follow up to Larsson’s Trilogy

Excellent, gripping story, bringing a new theme to familiar characters, cleverly revisiting the past, giving continuity and at the same time getting a new storyline, almost like ‘another episode’ in the lives of Lisbeth, Blomqvist and others. I enjoyed it immensely, even if all the complicated computer mathematical stuff was a bit too technical to understand.

A good holiday read

I waited a long time before buying this. I really liked Stieg Larsson’s trilogy and I didn’t want to like this. It was better than expected but I still don’t think it should have been written. Either it lacked something or I thought it lacked something. It did not seem so vivid. I sensed a lot of repetition

Good but no Stieg Larsson

I enjoyed this book but it just wasn’t as good as the originals. Part of the problem was the dialogue; not sure if that was the author or lost in translation. I will read the next because it was by now means poor, just not Stieg Larsson which I guess was bound to be the case.

Lisbeth & Mikael are alive & living in fiction.

Stieg Larsson will be a hard man to beat & all marks go to David Lagercrantz for taking over the mantle to keep Lisbeth Salander & Mikael Blomkvist alive! I’m only part of the way through the story as I write this review, but so far, so good!
