There is a lazy Mediterranean village full of colourful characters.

There is sunshine and wine and a long sandy beach…

There are nagging in-laws, jealous neighbours and a plot to bankrupt the new hotel before it has opened its doors, and some scenes that are just a little bit unexpected.

I have read all of the Greek Village books in the series up to this point and once again this does not disappoint.

I have read all of the Greek Village series and the Reluctant Baker lives up to the rest. Starting from the beginning again with the Illegal Gardener while I wait with bated breath for the next book in the series. Thank you Sara for bringing this gorgeous village alive. I have never been to Greece but feel as though I have through your books.

Great story

Really enjoyed this book as we follow the life of another of the villagers in Sara Alexi’s series. The author manages to convey the baker’s feelings of guilt and lack of fulfillment as she once again weaves a magical story. I particularly liked the satisfying ending and can’t wait for her next book.

Another wonderful story of the people in the village, new characters anchored in ones well known, a good ending. Well worth the read

I have read all 10 Village books, one after the other as each book left me wanting more.I was completely transported to the village in Greece and found myself to be that fly on the wall looking down on each character as they travelled through life, loving, crying, working, eating, and sometimes cheating but passionate about retaining their own unique identity and a strong community ethos.

Sara Alexi does it again.

The tenth book in Sara Alexi’s Greek Village Series scores ten out of ten with me. The baker of Alexi’s title might be reluctant, but the writer’s hand could not be more assured as she kneads her ingredients into a rich plot, rising to a light, satisfying read which is cooked to perfection. Sara Alexi’s recipe just gets better and better.
