A harrowing heartbreaking story of a young girl who had her innocence snatched away, who had her years to enjoy the childhood every child deserves to be denied that in the most tragic way is just horrific to learn what this young girl went through is remarkable. A courageous young woman indeed. A compelling read for anyone that read about her story when it first hit the headlines and were curious to read her story.

This young girl went through an horrific ordeal and the loss of her child due to her circumstances yet she fought to overcome them. Her drug addiction due to her perception that she was to blame for her brother being jailed was a sad reflection on society. She faced her demons and conquered them. I hope that her daughter contacts her when she is older. A book that was not easy to put down when you have started to read it. Thankfully social services helped during some of this young girls life and tried to provide stability.

Sad… a must read

Wow….. what an incredible read! Longer in length than most “true stories”, and this is so unbelievable, you would think some of it is fiction, but it really is a true account.

Well how do you recover from this sort of abuse.Wow,horrendous upbringing by a mother who had problems so severe she let her daughter suffer at hands of people around her.You have to be strong n move forward n try to forget the abuse but it must be so hard to blank it out of your mind .Survive she did n hopefully she will meet up with those she wants at a later stage in her life .Hope she has a happy life now n has a good man to care for her and love n protect her she deserves it .

Wow! I remember this story when it came out in the tabloids. As many, I judged. Not necessarily Tressa, but her mother, family and lifestyle. Firstly, I want to apologise to Tressa for my knee jerk, sterio typical judgement. What a girl!? Brave and strong beyond words. This girl deserves eternal happiness after her horrendous childhood. Factual, well written, informative book. Would recommend to any one considering purchasing it. God bless you, Tressa.

Knowing someone who has gone through something very similar, I have learnt a great deal of understanding compassion, empathy and knowledge in knowing that you too are a survivor but still have to work through things, this book has given me an insight

Sad and moving story

I read this book pretty much in one sitting. I kept hoping that things would get better for this poor girl and that she would catch a break but things kept getting worse. The things she has seen and done should never ever have happened, and the failings of all of those around her who did not protect her is awful. How is it possible that a 9year old can be getting drunk and no one steps in, or that two small girls are raising their siblings, that it was the best solution to send a 16 year old to live in a flat by herself. What was wrong with social services, her aunts who knew these things were happening and did nothing.????

Truthful sad reality

Can’t say i enjoy reading stuff like this but i was intrigued to hear this baby girls story. Knew when the story came out at age 12 and pregnant this lass must have had some awful life. She didn’t stand a chance with her upbringing but proved a persons will and determination with the help of good people can prevail. Got angry when she kept making the same wrong decisions but again thats all she knew. Do hope one day her child and her have a relationship better than the one she had with her biological mother? God bless
