-77 quick-working exercises to develop speed and control in your picking hand-
-Every exercise is accompanied by an individual audio example available to download for free from http://www.fundamental-changes.com –
-This is the method taught by London's Guitar Institute-

There is a common idea amongst many guitarists that excellent instrumental technique is something that takes years to master. They believe that technique should be put before all else and that it should occupy the majority of your practice time.

In my experience this is not the case, and actually, an over-enthusiastic, single-minded pursuit of ‘perfect’ technique can be counterproductive, unnecessary, and even damaging to your health.

This book is one quarter of the full work, Complete Technique for Modern Guitar. It focuses solely on picking and 'right hand' technique.

Simple but very challenging

I’ve been playing guitar for a few years and realised I’d never be a ‘god’. Spent so much time practicing over and over again and often struggling over certain points. Did rote exercises and got very good at doing them but progress was always slow. This book gives totally new exercises and they do seem to be more appropriate to technique. I’d never heard of these exercises and initially I was thinking ‘wtf’ but put my mind to them and have already found them very useful (after less than a week). The advice, like filming yourself to see how you get on (and how cool you look) is a good idea. My added advice – close your eyes when doing the exercises; I’ve found I am much better if I just let my fingers and ears do the work rather than looking at the fretboard.

This is a great book

Good book from a fine teacher, I do suggest that you put it on your computer using the Kindle App. This will give you a better chance to take advantage of the excellent video presentation. Joseph Alexander just seems to make sense!

I have learned from this ebook and can recommend it.

Any ebooks that help me to improve in my picking and playing generally is welcome. I came across it when simply checking for chord books. I have learned from this ebook and can recommend it.

I can’t fault this.

I will first cover what it doesn’t have. No Zen like mysticism. No wild promises to turn you into a Guitar God with 5 minutes practice a week. This book just contains common sense. It promises to turn you into the guitar player you want to become, given the required level of input from you and although I have only had it for a few days, I believe it will.
