As a mother, I imagined myself somewhere between Mary Poppins and Gwyneth Paltrow.
You know – growing my own courgettes, laughing whilst covered in mud, possibly having my own kiddie clothing range … that sort of thing.
But unforeseen circumstances have thrown me far from vegetable patches and spoonfuls of sugar.
I am currently a single mother, living with my parents. And this New Year, I am in need of a major detox.
What am I detoxing?
Daisy’s father, Nick.

New Year is a time to diet and purify (after, of course, finishing up all the Christmas crap – there’s no point trying to diet with all that still hanging around. Glass of port anyone?).
Mum is losing weight, courtesy of Jaffa cakes and low-fat strawberry angel delight (two of my five a day!). Dad is having a bicycle-clip clear out.
My detox is my feckless, irresponsible former boyfriend.
Alex and I will never work out if I can’t cut Nick out of my life.
But how can I, when he’s Daisy’s dad?

What Readers are Saying …

Lovely read
If there was such thing as comfort food in book form, this would be it. It’s like shepherds pie on a cold winters evening. I sat in my garden on an unusually warm sunny day and read this in one sitting. Really enjoyed it 🙂 – Dr Kate Richmond

Amazing, brilliant, funny, a MUST read
Fantastic book i couldn't put it down (it's now 4.50am). I can't wait to read the next book. If you want a funny, uplifting read then this book 100% delivers. Do yourself a favour and read this book, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Suzy you are a very talented author – Caz

Brilliant … Just Brilliant
I don't normally write reviews, but on this occasion I had to. This is not my normal genre, but it looked fun. Couldn't put it down. Read the book from start to finish in one sitting. Funny, sad, hysterical, normal, crazy… I could go on but need to download the next book from this wonderfully entertaining and fresh new to me, author. Recommend for anyone who needs a lift in spirit of just an entertaining read. Please, Suzy, keep writing, I am hooked. – Amazon Customer

This book has made me laugh out loud to the point of embarrassment and I stayed up all night reading it, this book is highly addictive once you start to get into some parts are boring but most are amazing.

Brilliant sequel

 on 21 May 2017
By Fiona Wilson
Having enjoyed the first book in this series I instantly downloaded this one. This continues the story of Juliette, Daisy, Alex, Nick et al immediately after the end of book one. The author once again takes us on a journey. She gives us more laugh out loud moments, some happy and sad ones, and a lot of ‘oh for goodness sake, open your eyes’ moment. Maybe it’s just me that finds herself shouting at my Kindle in an attempt to get characters to grow up and accept things before making the biggest mistake of their lives.

Love this series

Three times I’ve tried to write a review and amazon keep refusing it……..i must admit I’ve never read a book of Suzy Quinn’s and stumbled across the bad mothers diary after needing a light hearted read I’m so glad I found it I absolutely couldn’t put this book down I love how down to earth it is and can fully relate to juliettes life (at parts I actually thought I was reading about myself) I love how close her family are and her mother is hilarious I love Alex and could punch nick (why do men always come crawling back when they think your moving on) can’t wait to see what’s in store for the couple next I do hope they get their happy ending would of given this more than 5* if I could

This book made me laugh out loud, after reading the first Bad Mother’s Diary I couldn’t wait for more. I love a book that gets me laughing or crying, it truly makes for a good book. This has to be one of my favourites that I will be going back to read again and again.

Didn’t Want It To End

I loved this book as much as the first in the series The Bad Mother’s Diary, loved it so much that I didn’t want it to end, it centres around the life of Juliette single mother of baby Daisy & her wacky but loveable family and friends who are always on hand to offer advice sometimes wanted sometimes not as she lurches from one crisis to the next in her rollercoaster of a life battling against her useless ex Nick & his dragon of a Mother Helen who is a world away from her own Mother who’s idea of healthy eating is Jaffa cakes, a brilliant funny laugh out loud book & I cannot wait for the next one

Never rains but pours for poor Julsey!!

As an avid fan I managed to nab this book before it was officially released!!! I truly loved the first and this was no different. There was so many occasions where I was laughing out loud at poor Jules misdemeanours but you certainly feel for her and pray she gets her happy ending. I couldn’t put it down and read it in the equivalent of a day due to the fact I started it yesterday afternoon. I can’t wait to see what else life throws at our ‘Bad Mother’. Well down Suzy you did fab roll on book 3 in the Bad Mothers Saga

Funny as…..fudge!!!

As a thriller reader I was looking for something a little more light hearted but not completely lacking in any originality. I’ve laughed out loud, gotten angry and associated with these characters so much! Can’t wait to read the prequel! Thanks Suzy Q!!!

Fabulous book

Absolutely loved this book. I suppose it could be read as a stand alone story but I would recommend reading the prequel Bad Mothers Diary first. Suzy is an excellent writer who has a way of making the reader care about the characters and and having read both the books, I now want to know what the next instalment of Juliette, Daisy, Alex and the rest will bring. Whatever it is, I look forward to it

Another fab read

Very enjoyable yet again! Addicted to the “Bad mother collection” So glad I came across the trials and tribulations of Juliette Duffy’s life. So relatable, Very witty and sometimes touching on emotional, however generally a light read and easy to follow. Definitely recommend this, but read ” The Bad mother’s diary” first as this follows on. I Can’t wait to find out what happens next ….
