Three women, one dream: to become a successful author.

Eden Taylor has made it—big time. A twenty-three year old with model girl looks and a book deal with a major publisher, she's outselling the established names in her field and is fast becoming the darling of the media.

Becky Hunter has money problems. Can she earn enough from her light-hearted romance novels to counteract boyfriend Alex's extravagant spending habits, before their rocky world collapses?

Hard up factory worker Jan Chilver sees writing as an escape from her troubled, lonely life. She is offered a lifeline—but fails to read the small print…

In the competitive world of publishing, success can be merely a matter of who you know—and how ruthless you are prepared to be to get to the top.

BEST SELLER is a novella of 40k words (roughly half as long as an average length novel), a slightly dark, slightly edgy drama with a twist or three in the tale.

Artists, Con Artists, & the Temptation of the Artist…

Loved this book!

Another great read from Terry Tyler

I have read several of Terry Tyler’s books and have enjoyed all of them. She has a real knack of writing believable, entertaining characters that you quickly become invested in. The lives of the three writers in this novella, Becky, Eden and Jan, become entwined through their membership of a writing club, but not all have the talent to succeed, at least not without a little help. And the consequences of this are drawn out beautifully and compellingly in a short read that fully develops the plot and the characters.

Who says life is fair?

“It’s just not fair!” The good guys are supposed to win. And who could possibly be more good than us? Maybe we try just as hard, or are just as pretty, or just as special as the winners. Why shouldn’t we be just as successful?

One of my favourite writers. Loved this

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and devoured it in two sessions. Terry Tyler is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

A poignant, bitter-sweet tale of life in the modern world. Brilliant!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Terry Tyler’s writing but I particularly loved ‘Best Seller – A Tale of Three Writers’. She describes it as a novella but to me it’s a novel – with a novel’s cast of characters and breadth of canvas – its shortness due only to its pacey, economic style which doesn’t waste a word or bore the reader for an instant. Many lesser authors would have taken three hundred pages to cover this ground.

Read in a day: the story has stayed with me for much longer.

I read this novella a week ago over the course of two train journeys, a spell at the British Library in between chatting to a Greek Orthodox priest and a meal at the Waitrose cafe at Kings Cross. By the time my homeward train pulled into Newark that night I was pondering the moral questions raised by this tale of three writers. Well, I know what my stance would have been faced by the choices of the three women in the book, and the character Becky, in particular, surprised me. I wanted to shout at her to stand up for what she knew was right.

Highly Recommend

Is the saying true, do we all have a book in us? Anyone who believes this, or has proved it to be true, will adore this novella.

The ending will make your jaw drop.

One of the most outstanding features of any of Terry Tyler’s books is her ability to create rounded characters that come alive the first time they open their mouths.

Interesting with an open ending

This book was a quick and interesting read with a moral dilemma — is it ever right to pass someone else’s work off as your own?

This has Best Seller written all over it

The world of publishing is a competitive one and this book tells the story of three, very different, writers and what they are willing, or sometimes forced, to go through to get that elusive best seller. What I always enjoy about Tyler’s writing are her spot on characterisations, and this book is packed with gems.
