With her Cornish Beach Café closed for the winter, Evie Flynn should be looking forward to lazy days and a happy Christmas, with nothing more pressing to think about than when to have her next mince pie.

But her sister Ruth is coming to stay, in a cloud of heartbreak and bitterness following her marriage breakdown, along with her three unhappy children, and Evie knows she'll have her work cut out, trying to spread some festive cheer. Then her boyfriend Ed breaks the news that he's going to spend Christmas in London, for family reasons, and her heart sinks even further.

Add in to the mix a lost dog plus the hotly contested village Christmas bake-off and before long, Evie is feeling the strain. But there are still a few surprises in store for her, that look set to make this Beach Café Christmas the most memorable one yet…

This was the last book that I had left to read in the ‘Beach Cafe’ series(having already read the last novella first!!) and I absolutely loved it!! Although I am very glad that I have read the whole series, I am however, quite upset that I no longer have any more of the series to read and I do hope that there will be more to come!!

Treat yourself to this wonderful festive read.

Have been looking forward to reading this since I pre-ordered and finished within a day! (working an 8 hour shift in between!) Great to catch up with Evie and Ed and their families at this special time of year and share in their festivities just wish it was was longer, hope we get to visit the little beach cafe again very soon.

A Delightful Christmas Tale

A Christmas treat from Lucy Diamond. A series of disasters involving Ed’s father take us into Ruth’s arrival and another problem for Evie. The narrative is short yet describes the intriguing Carrawen scenario. Romance with the entry of characters, Lindsay, Hugo, Michel and Victoria add substance to the novella. As with Lucy Diamond’s stories they bowl along until the end that always comes too soon. This a fun tale, full of humour. Bella and Ruth are joys. Evie and Ed take us through making marizipan Santas to a wonderful Christmas feel-good seasonal factor enhanced by an about time surprise!

Never fails to hit the spot!

I eagerly search out Lucy Diamond’s new books and have had this one on order forever. I have just finished reading it and as always I have not been disappointed. Brilliant meeting up again with Evie and Ed – I just hope we have more updates in the future about their life together, maybe a new full sized novel Hmmm? In the meantime two new Lucy Diamond books next year to look forward to Yey!

Love revisting much loved characters

After reading The Beach Cafe over a year ago, I was so excited when I saw this and Christmas at the Beach Cafe. I downloaded them and read them both within a couple of days (if it had been the weekend, it would have been a couple of hours!). It was great to revisit the characters that I loved so much and at my favourite time of year. Great to get you in the mood for Christmas. I would recommend reading The Beach Cafe first, followed by Christmas at The Beach Cafe, but I think it would work as a stand alone too.
