I didn’t give this five stars, because it didn’t entirely suit my purposes. I am about to be going onto a beginners dig-photography course and hoped I could use this as a sort-of ‘text book’ to help understand the subject. I have never picked up a DSLR camera before, so I was hoping that this would be a good start.

This book was purchased for my wife since fighting her way through the semi-Jinglish hand book which came with her Canon was getting no where on some of the more advanced functions.

Good for a beginner as it covers the field quite well. Written in an American style which can be irritating, however is better than some of the other authors.

Very useful and informative

While I don’t consider myself a dummy I learned a lot from this book. It will appeal to beginners and mid level photographers alike. It’s well written and informative. It will even make you laugh sometimes. I recommend it.

This book is excellent for a beginner like me. It’s well written: the author teaches you the basics in a way that you “get” the first time (and remember!). No mean feat there! She has a way of taking the “overwhelm” out of this subject which can be very overwhelming!!
