I got into the cosy Christmas read mood, after reading books by Sue Moorcroft and Mandy Baggot, and someone happened to recommend this.

A Winter Wonderland of Magic

I LOVED The Christmas Cake Cafe by Sue Watson; so much so that I devoured it in two sittings! The characters, especially the protagonist, Jen, are wonderful. I could empathise with Jen and her predicament: her whole world had been turned upside down and when her stepsister Jody persuaded her to go to Switzerland for Christmas, it was with trepidation that she agreed. Switzerland was truly brought to life on the pages; the author’s descrptions were brilliant. I’d love to go skiing there now, (and of course eat plenty of cake)! This read was funny, poignant and heartwarming; full of Christmas magic. Thoroughly recommended.

Great all round feel good book!

Jen who had with her ex boyfriend for a very long time was so upset when he finally told her that he did not love her anymore. She had thought as her birthday was on Christmas Day that he was going to propose to her. So they broke up and thanks to her half sister Jody who talked to her since the break up..Jody talked a lot..of sense . Jody decided to go with Jen and another couple of friends to Switzerland…….

There was only one thing wrong with this book, I didn’t want it to end. A really good heart warming story tackling all aspects of life. A young women’s search for a perfect relationship and the need to step outside the box and be prepared to take a chance.

A laugh a minute and emotionally heartfelt read. Hits a nerve and tells a few home truths about the dreaded "blended" family.

Always a pleasure to engulf yourself in the selflessness live of Sue Watson character. This book struck a cord as coming from a -“blended family” it made me see both sides of view, making me cry for moments past and lost due to the adults own desire to supposedly make it right. I’m not sure I am summarising the book clearly brought but it will make you howl with laughter one minute and be reaching for the tissues the next. Sue Watson is a gem of a find and warms you up and makes you feel all good inside. Just like the hot chocolate, cream and allows that she mentions leaving you salivating and wanting something sweet! And you certainly get it in abundance x love these books

Really good, earthy and genuine.

Being male and decrepedly mature the behaviour of young women came as a bit of a shock. But I enjoyed the delightful casualness of their relationship a.d friendship that developed. Some sensitive writing about intergenerational relationships too.
