She is the girl with the dragon tattoo. Lisbeth Salander. An uncompromising misfit whose burning sense of injustice and talent for investigation will never respect boundaries of state or status.

He is a campaigning journalist. Mikael Blomkvist. A lone wolf whose integrity and championing of the truth bring him time and again to the brink of unemployment – and prosecution.

The call comes in late at night: a superhacker has gained access to critical, top secret U.S. intelligence.

Blomkvist knows only one person who could crack the best security systems in the world. This case has all the hallmarks of Salander. She is accused of acting without reason, taking risks just because she can, but though they have lost touch, Blomkvist knows Lisbeth better than that.

There must be something deeper at the heart of this – maybe even the scoop that Millennium magazine so desperately needs for its survival.

A tangled web of truth that someone is prepared to kill to protect…

all my best wishes to this great writer, who dares to take on the challenge and making the books his own.

Stieg Larsson… ah the voice that is silenced far, far, far too early. David Lagercrantz proves to be more than up to the task. Though of course, such things as taste is to each their own. David Lagercrantz has said that in an interview, he personally does not like writing of the violence towards women that plays quite a heavy part in Larsson’s original. The main focus of both his Girl in the Spider’s Web and Girl who Takes an Eye for an Eye is Lisbeth. His Lisbeth is a seamless continuation from Larsson’s original creation. I do miss the Millennium trilogy very much, and David Lagercrantz,is doing a very difficult job exceptionally well.

Ignore the Larsson purists; it’s a great read!!!

When I read the first three Dragon Tattoo books, I found myself starting to get agitated as I knew Stieg Larsson was no longer with us and I was afraid his last book would not end on a note that I would be content with; I needn’t have worried because all came to a thrilling conclusion. When it was announced there would be a new writer to continue the series I was a little sceptical. They are never the same so I thought I would let the initial reviews lead me. Well, they must have been written by Larsson purists as they weren’t as complimentary as I hoped they would be. Anyway, a couple of years down the line, I decided to have a go and read it. WOW!!! I was amazed at how accurately David Lagercrantz wrote in Larsson’s style. LOVED the book. A real page turner. The author managed to replicate they way Stieg choreographed the characters through the plots and he kept the chilling chapter endings so I instantly ordered the fifth book. Really happy and Lagercrantz has paid great respect to Stieg’s legacy.
